Episode 7. Mary Cairncross Revisited

It’s been two years since our first foray as the Sporopod, and our discovery of the invasive pest fungus, the Orange Ping Pong Bat fungus in the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Come with us as we revisit one of our fave fungi foray spots. Once again, Mary Cairncross doesn’t disappoint with its incredible diversity of myco-life.

We suggest an ID where we can, bearing in mind that it is difficult to identify many fungi with any confidence unless microscopy work is undertaken. We’d love to hear from you if you have any questions or corrections to our suggested IDs. For more images from Mary Cairncross, check out our Gallery page, Mary Cairncross Meanders.

‘Yellow Bridal Veil’ - nice name, shame about the smell!
